This immersive stay in the daily life of small villages, from the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara dunes, will leave you with extraordinary memories if you are primarily seeking contact with local people. It is possible for groups of 5 or more; if your group is smaller, please contact us anyway, and we may be able to open the trip to others to reach the minimum number of participants.

This hike is also a journey to encounter the Berber people through the sublime landscapes of southern Morocco.
Disconnect from your daily routine, forget the stress of everyday life, and return to simple things. A complete change of scenery is guaranteed, allowing you to rediscover yourself.
This trip to Morocco will allow you to discover... iconic places in Morocco, like Marrakech, "the pearl of the south" and its madness, its ceaseless activity, its noises and smells, but also the regions of the Dades Valley and Valley of Roses.
Each evening, enjoy a well-deserved rest in each of the stages with locals, or you will be given a superb welcome.
At each stage, genuine moments of discovery and sharing with the local Berber population of Ait are organized. BouguemezYou will be involved in daily tasks, including cooking to live and enjoy the village customs.

Day 1

Arrival in Marrakech and welcome by our team on site.

Transfer towards the small town of Amzmiz . You will stop to visit this magnificent typical village, including the Jewish quarter of Malah, then head towards Ait Zeitoun.

You will share the daily life of a Berber family with whom you will stay overnight. Men and women will go out, some to discover the agricultural activities of the families in the community, and others to learn about local cuisine.

Day 2

After breakfast, meet with the local village team and their mules for a hike through the Berber villages of Infgue.

After a climb towards the Tizgui forest , a lovely lunch break, prepared by the inhabitants of the forest, awaits you.

Then the hike will continue towards the magnificent village of Tamsoulte and then towards the large village of Ait Righid, which is the last village in the Mountain.

Dinner and overnight stay with a local family.

Possibility of preparing Anwal dinner (which means "traditional Berber cuisine") entirely cooked over a wood fire in the traditional Kanoun.

Then the meal will be eaten with the family, in the Moroccan style.

Day 3

Today, a day dedicated to discovering village life:

This day will be dedicated to sharing the daily life of the inhabitants : accompany them in the fields , work in the kitchen and learn to prepare couscous, bread dough and other traditional Moroccan dishes, and learn about carpet making.

After lunch, the women will be able to help the women of the village milk the cows and feed the sheep and goats.

At the end of the day, you will prepare the evening meal with your family.

Day 4

After breakfast, departure for the hike in the Anougal valley.

The hike starts with a walk through the forest with a beautiful view of all the villages and the Amzmiz valley.

Then you pass through the large village of Ait Ahmed, dotted with terraced fields, almond trees and fig trees. Here, you will meet the locals during lunch.

Then you continue your journey towards the large village of Infague where you will settle for the night with a Berber family.

After a welcome tea, you can visit the village to discover the traditional life of the inhabitants.

In the evening, cooking classes include Beldi chicken tajine with lemon, Tanourte bread and Moroccan Harira.

Visit to some families who make Berber rugs, and Ahouache Musical Evening.

Day 5

After breakfast, transfer by bus through the Nirte forest, the valley and the village of Azgour , the Toulkine plateaus which offer breathtaking views of the imposing Wirzane mountains at 3,880 m altitude.

Descent through the valley and the mud-brick village of Ibardatne.

Arrival at the large village of Marossa and start of the hike in the Imi Ndounite gorges which means " the door of the World "!

You then arrive in ancient villages hidden in the mountains.

In the gorges, a lunch break will be taken after which the hike will resume in the valley.

You then arrive in a Berber village , where you will stay with a local, and at the end of the day you will have free time to get to know the locals.

Day 6

At the start of the day, you will be transferred by vehicle to the Assif lmal valley with the option to visit the Berber souk . You will pass by the Taskourte dam, the village of Mjat , and then head towards the Agafay desert for a camel ride and to watch the sunset.

Day 7

Return to Marrakech by vehicle (35 km).

After dropping off your luggage at the riad, meet a local guide to visit the monuments of Marrakech.

You will have free rein over your afternoon.

Day 8

Transfer to the airport and end of your stay.

You will be accompanied by a guide throughout your stay, all you have to do is relax and enjoy!

Packing instructions:

  • A small backpack (approximately 20 L) to carry your belongings for the day (water, camera, etc.).
  • Everything you need to protect yourself from the cold, wind and sun.
  • A cap, hat or scarf.
  • High-top walking shoes with good non-slip soles.
  • Sandals or soft shoes for the evening.
  • Special walking socks with looped terry for better walking comfort.
  • Lightweight canvas trekking trousers or Bermuda shorts. It's best to avoid very short shorts so as not to offend the locals.
  • T-shirts, not too low-cut for women so as not to shock the population.
  • Warm clothing (sweater, fleece, windbreaker) for evening and morning in spring and autumn.
  • A pair of sunglasses.
  • Sun protection: be aware that the Moroccan sun can be very strong in all seasons. It is therefore advisable to use a high SPF sunscreen.
  • All your personal hygiene products.
  • Small first aid kit: medication for stomach problems, antibiotics (ask your doctor for advice), something to treat minor foot injuries and your personal medications.
  • To please the people who are hosting you, a small box of chocolates and sweets for the children can be brought.

The prices shown below are per person.

Price: €890 based on 2 to 6 people, full board, for an 8-day – 7-night stay

It is possible to hire saddle mules to relieve tired people for an additional 95 EUR for walking days.
