On foot from the Dadès valley to the valley of roses
A trip to Morocco, to the Moroccan South, is always a unique experience: it is not only the discovery of magnificent landscapes, but also the discovery of Berber culture.
The local people will welcome you with open arms to share about their daily lives while participating with them in cooking and field work.
This stay is possible for groups of 5 or more; if you are fewer than 5 people, please contact us anyway, as we can open the booking to other people to reach the minimum required.

Day 1
Arrival in Marrakech and welcome by our guide.
Transfer to the Riad then free time to visit the city.
Day 2
Departure around 8 a.m., heading towards Tichka Pass (2260 m altitude) the highest road pass in Morocco, with a magnificent panoramic view. After the pass, the landscapes become more desert-like, typical of the great southern slopes of Morocco.
Lunch at Ouarzazate, then you will continue towards Kelâa M'Gouna, before arriving at the Dadès Valley with its beautiful kasbahs.
Night in the Kasbah from a Berber family in the village of Ait Youl de Dadès.

Day 3
The hike begins in the valley of Dades, to cross several terraced crops, then you leave this beautiful valley for arid landscapes for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Finally, you arrive in the sumptuous and...idyllic M'Goun valleyLunch by the valley at Ighrm Aqdim village, then another 2-hour walk to reach the Aguerzaka villageRemember to bring sneakers as you will have to cross several rivers.

Approximately 5 hours 30 minutes of walking - 500m ascent and 400m descent
Day 4
You leave this verdant valley and its beautiful kasbahs, to climb 300 meters towards the pass which will lead you through a juniper forest into the Ameskar ValleyOnce again, a sublime valley awaits you, the Almdoune Valleywith about a hundred earthen houses.
Lunch in the Temtda Valley prepared by our cook, then we will continue along the path that leads to the Alemdoune village (1 700 m).
Dinner and overnight stay staying with a local resident.
Approximately 5 hours of walking - 400m ascent and 300m descent
Day 5
You descend calmly a oleander valley (plan to cross the gorges in sandals), then you walk through splendid little gorges dotted with oleanders. Then you arrive at the Elhout Valley and its sublime kasbahs, one of the great villages of the region.
Lunch by the river near the Aznag village which we then cross, and after a 1-hour walk, we will arrive at in the village of Boutaghrar.
Dinner and overnight stay with a local family.
Approximately 5 hours 30 minutes of walking - 600m ascent and 500m descent
Day 6
After breakfast, departure towards the Tagyatte plateauan easy hike between the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley on foot or on muleback if you have children.
Opportunity to discover the Nomad Life We'll explore the caves with herds of goats, donkeys, and chickens, spending a day with them preparing local dishes in their kitchen. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a beautiful walk in the heart of the plateau. A minibus will then meet us for the return trip. in the village of Boutaghrar late in the evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at the same place.
Approximately 4 hours of walking (little elevation gain)
Day 7
After breakfast, a day of work with the locals in the fields and a visit to a cooperative of carpet and scarf makers with Berber patterns.
Lunch with a family then transfer to Tabrkhachte, a 35-minute drive away.
Settle in with the locals and then set off with the women of the family to discover the fields of the rose queens and look for organic vegetables to cook dinner together.

Day 8
After thanking our team of muleteers, transfer by car.
A short stop in the small town of Kalaat M'goun, a city famous for its annual Rose Festival. There, you'll find shops selling rose-based products. We will continue our journey towards Ouarzazate, while enjoying the magnificent landscapes that theAtlas.
Arrive at Marrakech installations in your riad.

Day 9
After breakfast, transfer to the airport according to your departure time.
This hike is led by a professional, French-speaking guide who will be delighted to show you their magnificent country in the best possible way. A whole team will take care of setting up and taking down the campsite each evening and preparing lunch and dinner. You'll be charmed by the kindness and good humor of everyone involved, who will make this trip a truly dreamlike experience.
In the end, all you have to do is walk and let yourself be guided!
Pack a soft-sided travel bag with a side zipper or a frameless backpack. Avoid hard-sided bags and suitcases.
In this bag, here's what you absolutely must have:
- A small backpack for the day's essentials
- A pair of lightweight walking shoes that provide good ankle support. Avoid new shoes (blisters). Slip-on sneakers are recommended for each stage of the hike.
- A good warm sleeping bag and a tracksuit for the night (nights are cool at altitude)
- Warm anorak and warm pullovers or fleece, rain cape (storms possible)
- Hat, shorts or bermudas, wool socks, headlamp with spare battery and bulb,
- Survival blanket.
- A pair of telescopic poles if you are used to them.
- In your small backpack: 2 water bottles of at least one liter, pocket knife, toilet paper, lighter, sunscreen and lip balm, sunglasses.
- At the start of the season: add walking shoes with rigid or semi-rigid Vibram soles, gaiters, gloves, hats, very good mountain sleeping bag, and Placier sunglasses.
- A first-aid pharmacy will be available during the tour. However, it is recommended that you bring your usual medications and a personal first-aid kit: elastic bandages, iodine alcohol, compresses, arnica, aspirin, intestinal antiseptic, small scissors, tweezers, hydroclonazone or Micropur for water purification, activated charcoal or brewer's yeast (to maintain intestinal flora), etc.
Your luggage will be transported by mules, please ensure you only bring the essentials!
