Program

Day 1
  • From Melay to Saint Julien de Jonzy :

Today, we're climbing! You will quickly understand why we call Brionnais, the country of the 7 hills, it is certainly not the 7 mountains but you will still have fun! Here the trails are very numerous and it's a realpleasure for mountain biking! Have fun in taking these hollow paths in the middle of the pastures where our good Charolais cows live quietly! You will pass through the villages of Fleury la Montagne (magnificent view of the bocage) and Ligny en Brionnais where the small Bézo river flows which makes the countryside very bucolic!

Day 2
  • From Saint Julien de Jonzy to Montceau l'Etoile :

We move on to serious things, we have saved the best for the end! Direction Semur en Brionnais for a short visit if you want to : a visit to the Saint Hilaire collegiate church. It was built in the 12th century. It is classified as a historic monument. It was the last Roman church built in Brionnais. It is a mixture of Clunisian roman style primitive Gothic style. You can also visit the castle of Semur en Brionnais, right next to the church. Guided tours of the Saint Hilaire college and / or the Saint Martin chapel are optional. Then we resume the direction of the magnificent Arconce valley by more or less long paths, you have the choice!

Day 3
  • From Montceau l'étoile to Melay :

A last day very smooth because we offer you a hike in the plain of the river Loire with little difference in height to warm up the muscles quietly! You will ride partly on the towpaths of the canal parallel to the Loire, the longest river in France, commonly called the last wild river in Europe. You will work in an area classified as "Natura2000" which brings together natural sites, across all of Europe, identified for the scarcity or fragility of wild, animal or plant species and their habitats. You have every chance to meet many wading birds, such as storks, but also many other birds on this course.
