Description

Leaving from Marrakech, your guide will take you to explore the most beautiful landscapes of the Toubkal massif. You will set off to climb Mount Toubkal (4167 m), the highest peak in North Africa and discover the splendid Lake Ifni, a unique place located at the bottom of the Tifnoute valley. During this hike, you cross several passes, but also many Berber villages and their splendid terraced crops.

This stay is possible from 5 people, if you are less numerous, contact us all the same, we can open this stay to other people to reach the minimum required.

Program

Day 1
  • Welcome at the airport by our guide and transfer to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 2
  • Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1750 m), passing through the gorges of Moulay Brahim and Asni. Meeting with the mule team and starting point for the hike to Fousarou (2000 m) via the Tizi N’Tamaterte pass (1950m).

Day 3
  • Winding climb via the Likem’t pass (3600 m) to arrive at Azib Tinzart (2500 m).

    Here, it is y high mountain landscape that awaits you with its panoramic views of the plain of Haouz and the magnificent Jebel Taroukht. Then you will descend towards your evening bivouac, isolated for an exceptional evening in the heart of the mountain.

Day 4
  • You leave Azib Tinzar to descend towards the village of Amssouzert (1750 m), the largest village in the Tifnout valley, passing through the Ourai pass (3120 m).

    Here again breathtaking high mountain landscapes!

Day 5
  • Morning departure towards Lake Ifni (2300 m) with several passages through Berber villages.

    You can enjoy this magnificent place that is Lake Ifni, a splendid circus formed by an old glacier.

Day 6
  • Today you will have a nice climb by a steep path through the Ouanoums pass (3700 m). Enjoy these splendid high mountain views before descending to the Neltner refuge (3105m).

Day 7
  • Depart early in the morning to reach the peak of Toubkal (4167 m): it is an ascent which will be done without danger by a winding path allowing you to climb gradually to the summit of Toukbal: from here you will have a panoramic view of the Anti-Atlas, the pre-Saharan mountains and the plain of Marrakech. Then you will go down to Imlil.

     

Day 8
  • End of the trip, you will be taken back from the hotel to the airport to catch your return flight.

This trip to Morocco will allow you to discover emblematic places of Morocco:

Marrakech, "the pearl of the south" and its madness, its incessant activity, its noises and its smells

The Djebel Toukbal, "the one who looks up at the earth" in Berber for its tranquility, and its infinite spaces, its silence and its requirement.

Lake Ifni, located in the Toubkal National Park at an altitude of 2,295 m. It lies between the valleys of N'Fiss to the west and the valley of Ourika to the east. Lake Ifni is the largest mountain lake in Morocco, it is also the highest, located in the heart of the High Atlas.

Throughout this stay, you will be accompanied by a Berber guide who speaks French and English, and you will navigate through the region, discovering Jebel Toubkal and the highest mountain in North Africa.

Every evening, take advantage of a well-deserved rest in each of the stages, some evenings in an organized bivouac (comfortable bivouac, set up before your arrival), in a gîte or homestay, where you will be superbly welcomed.

This hike takes place in the high mountains: you must be in good physical condition and it is imperative to have a good level of hiking.

5 to 6 hours of walking per day approximately. Positive altitude difference of 500 to 800 meters.

 

Day 1: Reception at the airport and transfer to your 3* hotel

Day 8: End of the trip, you will be taken back from the hotel to the airport to return

2 nights in a *** hotel in Marrakech, in a double room with breakfast.

5 nights in a bivouac, in a double or twin tent during the hike (assembled by our team on site)


Regarding the bivouacs: Please note that these are igloo type tents, if you wish to be in a twin (bedroom and tent to share) on this circuit, you should know that these tents have a limited space. Do not hesitate to ask your travel advisor who can offer you a supplement to be in an individual tent (subject to availability) and thus have more comfort.

For more comfort, the assembly and disassembly of the tents are carried out by our logistics teams on site. So in the morning, you will go hiking after having prepared your backpack for the day and in the evening, when you arrive at the bivouac site, you will find your tent set up.

Two mess tents, a small one for the kitchen and a large one with mats for meals.

A simple toilet tent (simple screen) will be installed by the local teams in the evening at the bivouac.

SINGLE ROOM and TENT
On this trip, the single request (subject to availability) must be made as soon as you register, it will be invoiced to you when your file is accepted.

Plan a flexible travel bag with side zipper or a backpack without frame. Avoid rigid bags and suitcases.

In this bag, here is what you absolutely must have:

A small backpack for the business of the day
A pair of lightweight, ankle-supporting walking shoes. Avoid new shoes (bulbs). Tennis to put on at the stage.
A good warm duvet and a tracksuit for the night (cool nights at altitude)
Warm anorak and warm or fleece pullover, rain cape (storms possible)
Hat, shorts or Bermuda shorts, woolen socks, headlamp with battery and spare bulb,
Blanket.
A pair of telescopic sticks if you're used to them.
In your small backpack: 2 water bottles of at least one litre, pocket knife, toilet paper, lighter, sunscreen and lip protection, sunglasses.
At the start of the season: add walking shoes with rigid or semi-rigid Vibram soles, gaiters, gloves, hats, very good mountain down, usher sunglasses.
A first aid pharmacy will be available to you during the tour. However, it is recommended to bring your usual medication and a personal pharmacy: elastoplast, iodized alcohol, compress, arnica, aspirin, intestinal antiseptic, small scissors, tweezers, hydroclonazone or micropur to purify the water, activated carbon or yeast beer (to maintain the intestinal flora) etc...

Your luggage will be transported by mules, be sure to bring only what is necessary!

This hike is a hike accompanied by a professional guide, speaking French and who will be keen to help you discover his magnificent country in the best possible way. A whole team will take care of setting up and dismantling the bivouac each evening and preparing the evening and midday meals. You will be seduced by the kindness and good humor of all these people who will make your trip a real dream.

In the end, all you have to do is walk and let yourself be guided!

By plane (at your expense): Arrival and departure at Marrakech-Menara international airport

As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will be looked after by your guide until the end of your stay.

The luggage will be transported on the back of mules.

In all cases, these rates are given as an indication, depending on your requests, a precise estimate will be established before booking.
