Description

A trip to Morocco, in southern Morocco is always a unique experience: it is not only the discovery of grandiose landscapes, but also the discovery of Berber culture.

The local populations will welcome you with open arms to discuss their daily life while participating with them in the kitchen, in the work of the fields.

This stay is possible from 5 people, if you are less numerous, contact us all the same, we can open this stay to other people to reach the minimum required.

Program

Day 1
  • Arrival in Marrakech and welcome by our guide.
    Transfer to the Riad then free time to visit the city.

Day 2
  • Departure around 8 am, Direction the Tichka pass (2260 m altitude) the highest road pass in Morocco, with magnificent panoramic landscape. After the pass, the landscapes will become more desert, they are typical of the great Moroccan South (southern slope).
    Lunch in Ouarzazate, then you will continue to Kelaa de M'Gouna, before arriving in the Dades Valley with its beautiful Kasbahs.
    Night at the Kasbah of a Berber family in the village of Ait Youl de Dades.

Day 3
  • Start of the hike in the Dadès valley which allows you to cross several terraced crops, then you leave this beautiful valley for arid landscapes for 3.5 hours.
    Finally, you arrive in the sumptuous green valley of M'Goun. Lunch at the edge of the valley in the village Ighrm Aqdim, then another 2 hour walk to reach the village of Aguerzaka, remember to take tennis shoes since you will have to cross several rivers several times.

Day 4
  • You leave this green valley and its beautiful kasbahs, to climb 300 meters towards the pass which will take you through a forest of junipers in the Ameskar valley. Again, a sublime valley awaits you, the Almdoune valley, with a hundred adobe houses.
    Lunch in the Temtda valley prepared by our cook then we will continue on a large path to the village of Alemdoune (1,700 m).

Day 5
  • You quietly descend a valley of oleanders (plan to cross the gorges with sandals), then you walk in splendid little gorges with their oleanders. Then you arrive at the valley of Elhout and its beautiful kasbahs, a large village.
    Lunch at the edge of the river near the village of Aznag which we then cross, and after 1 hour of walking, we will arrive in the village of Boutaghrar.

Day 6
  • After breakfast, departure to the Tagyatte plateau, an easy hike between the Rose Valley and the Dades Valley on foot or on the back of a mule if you have children.
    Possibility of discovering a life of the Nomads in the caves with herds of goats, donkeys and chickens in breeding and spending a day with them preparing special dishes in their kitchen. Then a superb walk in the heart of this plateau. A minibus will join us to return to the villages of Boutaghrar at the end of the evening.
    Dinner is night at the same place.

Day 7
  • After breakfast Day of work with the inhabitants in the fields and visit of a cooperative of manufacturers of small carpets and scarves with Berber motifs.
    Lunch with a family then transfer to tabrkhachte which is 35 minutes away by car.
    Settling in with the locals then leave with the women of the family to discover the fields of the rosières and look for organic vegetables to cook dinner together.

Day 8
  • After the thanks of our team of muleteers, transfer by car.
    A short stop at the small town of Kalaat M'goun, a town famous for the rose festival which is organized every year. There, there are shops that sell products made from roses. We will continue our journey towards Ouarzazate, while enjoying the sumptuous landscapes offered by the Atlas.

  • After breakfast Transfer to the airport according to your take-off time

This hike is also a journey to meet the Berber people through the sublime landscapes of southern Morocco.
Disconnect from your daily life, forget the stress of everyday life and get back to simple things. A total change of scenery guaranteed to find yourself.
This trip to Morocco will make you discover emblematic places of Morocco, such as Marrakech, "the pearl of the south" and its madness, its incessant activity, its noises and its smells, but also the regions of the Dades Valley and the Valley of the roses.
Every evening, enjoy a well-deserved rest in each of the stages at the inhabitant, where you will be superbly welcomed.
At the stages, real moments of discovery and sharing with the local Berber population of Ait Bouguemez are organized. You will be associated with the daily work, in particular the kitchen to live and taste the customs of the village.
Live a unique experience within the grandiose and varied landscapes: magnificent gorges, delightful gardens, very beautiful villages, and fields of roses as far as the eye can see.
The team on site will take great care to guide you, take you to secret places and prepare real feasts for your lunches.

Plan a flexible travel bag with side zipper or a backpack without frame. Avoid rigid bags and suitcases.

In this bag, here is what you absolutely must have:

  • A small backpack for the business of the day
  • A pair of lightweight, ankle-supporting walking shoes. Avoid new shoes (bulbs). Tennis to put on at the stage.
  • A good warm duvet and a tracksuit for the night (cool nights at altitude)
  • Warm anorak and warm or fleece pullover, rain cape (storms possible)
  • Hat, shorts or Bermuda shorts, woolen socks, headlamp with battery and spare bulb,
    Blanket.
  • A pair of telescopic sticks if you're used to them.
  • In your small backpack: 2 water bottles of at least one litre, pocket knife, toilet paper, lighter, sunscreen and lip protection, sunglasses.
  • At the start of the season: add walking shoes with rigid or semi-rigid Vibram soles, gaiters, gloves, hats, very good mountain down, usher sunglasses.
  • A first aid pharmacy will be available to you during the tour. However, it is recommended to bring your usual medication and a personal pharmacy: elastoplast, iodized alcohol, compress, arnica, aspirin, intestinal antiseptic, small scissors, tweezers, hydroclonazone or micropur to purify the water, activated carbon or yeast beer (to maintain the intestinal flora) etc...

Your luggage will be transported by mules, be sure to bring only what is necessary!

You will be accompanied by a guide throughout your stay, you just have to let yourself go!

By plane (at your expense): Arrival and departure at Marrakech-Menara international airport

As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will be looked after by your guide until the end of your stay.

The luggage will be transported on the back of mules.

For single people, for people wishing separate rooms, a supplement will be indicated when the quote is drawn up.

In all cases, these rates are given as an indication, depending on your requests, a precise estimate will be established before booking.

Possibility to rent saddle mules to relieve tired people for an extra 95 EUR for the 5 days of walking.
