Program

Day 1
  • Join us at 9am for a brief introduction before we begin our equestrian adventure along the picturesque bocages of Burgundy. Between refreshing canters, discover these small plots of pasture, mainly dedicated to the breeding of Charolais cows, bordered by hedges carefully trimmed by the local inhabitants. Set against a backdrop of charming beech woods, these undulating landscapes will be our playground for the day.

Along the way, you'll discover 3 restored wash-houses, admire the vineyards and catch a glimpse of the "Blancs" bell tower. Are you wondering what this means? Cécile, our guide, will be delighted to enlighten you!

At picnic time, your guide will take you on an imaginary journey, sharing the story of Oye and the "Blancs".

In the afternoon, walk along the Arconce and discover the cultural and gastronomic treasures of the Burgundy countryside, including several "Chapelles de Blancs".

At the end of the day, join the enthusiastic Escale Brionnais-Charolais in Chevagny, perched on the heights, offering a 360° panoramic view of the Arconce valley on one side and the Charolais plain with the majestic Vaux castle on the other. A true delight for the senses and the soul, preparing you for a well-deserved night's rest in these exceptional guest rooms.

Day 2
  • On this second morning of our horse trek, we'll encounter the hidden treasures of Burgundy's countryside and terroir. Between the meandering paths, a Templar house, the majestic Château de Vaux and the vast hop-growing fields, every moment will be an enriching discovery.

A well-deserved picnic awaits us on the peaceful banks of the Etang de Chassagne, offering a moment of relaxation and delight in the heart of nature.

In the early afternoon, marvel at a curious half-round, half-square tower with a conical roof in the picturesque village of Colombier en Brionnais. As the bocage landscapes give way to more rugged terrain, get ready for a new facet of our adventure.

Ride through magnificent forests of Douglas fir, the conifers imported from the United States, offering alpine-like landscapes with their perfectly straight trunks and rapid growth.

At the end of the day, our destination will be Montmelard, where we will be welcomed in style at the "Le St Cyr ***" hotel, offering every comfort, including a swimming pool for relaxing. On the programme: a gourmet dinner prepared by a chef and a restful night in a double room with en suite facilities."

Day 3
  • On this, the last day of our horse-riding trip, we'll gradually move away from the majestic Douglas fir forests and into the Charolais-Brionnais bocage.

Along the way, discover historic treasures such as the Montrouan castle, now a campsite, the magnificent Rambuteau castle, still privately owned, and of course the famous Drée castle.

The latter, nicknamed "the little Versailles", will be the ideal setting for our lunch break. Enjoy a tour of the formal gardens and the exterior before savouring your meal in front of these splendid plants.

After this enriching visit, saddle up for your return to the riding centre. Take to the bocage paths, gentle under the hooves of our companions, for a few last trots or gallops before returning to the farm.

Riders depart at around 6pm, bringing this wonderful horse ride to a close.
