Discover the charms of the Mâconnais on a fascinating 4-day equestrian excursion, accompanied by our expert guides. Plunge into the heart of the famous vineyards, from Pouilly-Fuissé to the red delights of Beaujolais, and let yourself be enchanted by the picturesque panoramas and the pleasures of Burgundy wine tasting.

Practical and accessible, our tour starts from Mâcon TGV station, offering optimum accessibility from major cities like Paris for an unforgettable horse-riding experience.

Program

Day 1
  • Immerse yourself in the adventure from the moment you arrive at the private car park of the Mâcon-Loché TGV station, where our team will give you a warm welcome.

    Your horse-riding holiday will begin with a discovery of the magnificent Beaujolais terroir, around the legendary Solutré and Vergisson rocks.

    Head south to Julienas, where a visit to the cellars awaits you, subject to availability, followed by a convivial wine tasting as an aperitif.

    In the afternoon, let yourself be enchanted by the panoramic views over the vineyards and the charming residences inspired by Lamartine, the famous Burgundy poet.

    Pass through majestic Douglas fir forests before reaching our overnight stop, the Gros Bois castle, a former hunting lodge steeped in history.

Day 2
  • Explore the heights of the Beaujolais region on your way to the picturesque barrel cellar of Avenas, where an ephemeral cooperative invites you to taste the finest nectars. Meet local producers from Chiroubles, Avenas, Fleury, Beaujeu and windmill, who will welcome you with passion.

    Enjoy a memorable picnic lunch on the terrace, with its breathtaking panoramic views.

    This day's horse-riding will be punctuated by steep paths, offering you an authentic experience before returning to the comfort and charm of the Gros Bois castle.

Day 3
  • In the morning, set off on an adventure on horseback through the majestic Douglas fir forests, then savour the pleasure of galloping along a stretch of the GR46 over the crests.

    Take an invigorating picnic break in Tramayes to regain your strength.

    In the afternoon, take on the hills and gradients to reach Serrières and the prestigious  Monterrains Domain, a breeder and producer of Mâcon wines in Burgundy. Enjoy an unforgettable evening in their cellar for an extended tasting session, accompanied by local delicacies. From white to crémant, rosé to red, let yourself be seduced by a palette of exquisite flavours!

Day 4
  • This final day of horse riding will plunge you into the heart of Burgundy's prestigious vineyards.

    In the morning, ride through the Burgundy region, passing through Pierreclos and its imposing château.

    Enjoy a picnic in the heart of the vineyards, facing the majestic Solutré rock, while your guide reveals the local stories and legends.

    In the afternoon, explore the vineyards of the Beaujolais region, from Fuissé to Chasselas via Pouilly-Fuissé, for an unforgettable wine tasting.

    Finish your tour in style by returning to the TGV station at Mâcon-Loché, taking with you lasting memories of this equestrian adventure.

Enjoy an exceptional four-day horse ride in Burgundy, where you'll discover the simple, authentic pleasures of nature in the company of our wonderful horses. Away from the screens and stresses of everyday life, let yourself be guided through breathtaking landscapes on this equestrian escapade, a real break from the daily grind.

Our horses, most of which were born on our farm, are robust companions from prestigious bloodlines such as Connemara, Spanish, Trotter and Canadian Paints, mixed with Thoroughbred Arabian and Quarter-Horse, offering a comfortable and safe riding experience suited to all levels.

You will be supervised by Cécile, our passionate guide for over 30 years, who will show you the hidden gems of Burgundy with authenticity and kindness, respecting the countryside and freedom.

For your comfort, our catering team will be on hand for lunch and dinner with everything you need, from tables and benches to barbecues and fridges, for well-deserved breaks in the great outdoors. Your luggage will be transported in vehicles, making your journey easier.

Each horse is equipped with a comfortable leather trekking saddle and all the necessary accessories. We accept riders up to 130 kg after consultation, and you can even bring your own equipment for added personal comfort.

Don't forget to pack your essentials: water bottle, sun cream, rain gear, sleeping bag (if you're staying the night before), pocket knife and torch, for a serene and memorable experience in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards.

Medium - Advanced (about 30 kilometers stage per day).

  • Master the basics of horseback riding (walk, trot, gallop).
  • Be at ease in taking care of your horse (grooming, saddling, unsaddling, tying up...).
  • To have already practiced outdoor riding (horseback riding).
  • For a good cohesion of the group it is desirable to have already practiced the 3 paces in outside.

Accommodation in guest houses and gites.

Meeting point in Charnay-les-macon (71) where the TGV station is located for the departure and the end of the hike. Private parking for vehicles.
